Crew preparing a set inside a large warehouse studio

( Our story )

Started with one borrowed van in 2017. Still close to the floor.

Gatelight began as two friends, one camera and a borrowed van, shooting music videos for bands who couldn’t pay much. Within a few years the bands got bigger, brands started calling and the van ran out of room.

Today we run a stage, two edit bays and a colour room under one roof. The team stays small on purpose: the people who pitch your film are the people who shoot, cut and grade it.

( Inside the building )

Studio stage with a lit blue cyclorama wall and lighting stands

The stage

400 m² of stage with a 12 m cyclorama, full blackout and drive-in access for cars and sets.

Editing desk with a colour-grading monitor, keyboard and laptop

The suite

Two edit bays, an HDR colour room and a 5.1 mix stage, a short walk from the set.

Film crew setting up lights on a night shoot

The kit

Cinema cameras, a full lighting and grip package and our own vans, so we can be on location tomorrow.

( How we work )

Three rules we don’t break

01

One crew, start to finish

The people on set are the people in the edit. Nothing gets lost in a hand-off.

02

Ideas on paper before money on set

Every shoot is boarded and timed before anyone is booked.

03

Small on purpose

We take on a handful of films at a time, so each one gets our full attention.
