( Behind the film )
The story
Dry Season follows three families in a small farming town through a summer without rain. Wells run low, fields turn to dust, and neighbours who have never needed each other start sharing water, tools and patience.
We filmed across eleven weeks, returning to the same kitchens, fields and town meetings until the cameras stopped being noticed. The film is quiet on purpose: most of the drama happens in pauses.
On the shoot
Shot handheld on a small two-person crew, with available light wherever possible. The grade keeps the heat in the image: bleached skies, warm skin and nights that never fully cool down.
